I installed life-size willow figures and seeded violas in the form of footprints for the series ‘Dancing with Your Shadow’
This work was supported by Chelmsford Borough Council, Hylands Gardens.
Installation
This is all that remains of the installation. The seeded footprints and marks of the figures in the grass. Traces of my sculpture have become part of the historic sculpture walk in the original formal gardens.
The 'foot prints' are made from seeded violas, figures and boundary shapes from plaited willow.
A second set of pictures was taken after a few weeks of work being installed at Hylands. The plants had grown and the figures seemed more part of their environment.
'Dancing with Your Shadow'
This instillation was made for Hylands Gardens, near Chelmsford, Essex. It was part of their biennial sculpture exhibition.

Family workshop
A willow figure was dressed by workshop participants using recycled materials. By the end of the day she was holding a baby, doing knitting, had her dog on a lead and carrying shopping. A regular busy mum.
